So, you have a slow, sluggish and clogged up PC that will take 2 minutes to accept your commands? Well don't worry, help is at hand! This step-by-step guide. We are not responsible for anything that happens to your PC.

1. Clean up temporary files. You may of already done this but anyways; To delete the basic temporary files, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. You can also check the other options. If the other options are massive file sizes, go ahead and delete them! Also, go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\ and delete all the files in there. Make sure to remove items from the recycle bin afterwards!

2. Defrag your drive. This will move files on your hard drive so your PC can access them quicker, therefore speeding up your PC and saving battery usage. To access the windows default disk defragger, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragment. It may take along long time depending how big your hard drive is. If you want a better defragment, use Defraggler

3. Remove unwanted software. Remember when you installed that software that turned out to be useless? Get rid of it! To remove unwanted software, go to Start > Control Panel (Control panel in classic view) click "Add or Remove Programs" and uninstall the uneeded software! It will also show you how large they are, which is a good feature. Be careful not to remove stuff you need, like your internet browser or windows updates! Most of them are there for a reason.

4. Stop programs running at start up. When you turn on your PC, are you spammed by stupid program? Well we can put a stop to that! Simply click Start > Run and type msconfig. When it opens, click the startup tab and delete stuff you don't need coming up at startup like "Limewire" or "FileZilla Server". Be careful not to remove important start up objects like your virus software or graphics drivers, etc etc. applications like ctfmon.exe should STAY how they are. Look up on Google some of the file names to see wether their OK to disable or not.

5. Scan for viruses. Viruses, the bane of PCs. They can cause your PC to crash and result in reinstalling Windows XP. Don't worry, just install AVG Free Edition (Recommended for everyone, and this gets 1million downloads a week) or Malware Bytes Anti Malware (Great for netbook users like me and is VERY fast at scanning.) Simply do a quick scan on Malware Bytes, or click Computer Scanner on AVG and click Scan System now. Make sure you check for updates EVERY day!

6. Repair your registry for errors. The registry is the most vital part of windows and can wear down with unneeded registry files. To clean your registry:

Install CCleaner. Click Registry then "Scan for issues". CCleaner will scan for registry errors. Once it has done, click fix selected issues. Now, it will say would like you to create a backup - thats up to you but it's recommended that you say yes. After saving your backup file, a dialog box will come up. If you want, scroll through and read them. But if your like me - click Fix All Selected issues.

One last thing, Install Advanced System Care. ASC is a powerful and easy to use PC booster. It fixes up the health of your PC, stopping it from suddenly going wrong. It also optimizes the Speed area of the PC, optimizing stuff such as internet speed, start up speed and much more. ASC is the ultimate choice for you!
